The Zimmerman's

So a few weeks ago I get a message from some old childhood friends. Their parents had an important anniversary coming up and they wanted to do something special to celebrate. They had a driver arranged to bring them to dinner and I was hired to help capture some portraits of them first at the house and then downtown.

So the kids throw a twist in there… Now keep in mind the above couple helped to raise me for years. In fact, they were my next door neighbors my entire childhood. And in all that time I never knew a detail of their marriage that I find quite interesting.

Ya’ll, these guys courted in a hearse, married and then honeymooned in their hearse.

So the kids rented a hearse to help them celebrate such a special anniversary.
I was so tickled by such a thing!

The kids managed to hide all these details and I was to capture the arrival of said hearse. I think I succeeded in capturing all the emotions! It was hysterical.

So then we had a mini photo shoot in the front yard before setting out for the evening.

We set out for downtown but with a slight detour to a popular tourist attraction. The famous ‘Dead Children’s Playground. I mean, they WERE in a hearse.

We did make it downtown to get some portraits of the happily married couple before sending them off to dinner. This was so much fun for me since this family has been such a HUGE part of my life. They were such great sports, especially considering they didn’t know they were having their photos taken until they saw me.

It was such an honor to capture the night for these two and I was so happy to be a part of it. Here’s to 40 more guys!
